Casey

This past Tuesday, one of my best friends, Gabi, and I did Casey's senior pictures. You might recognize his face from taking Gabi to homecoming this year!

A few photographers that I follow like Kayla, and Bobbi and Mike are a husband and wife team. I think that it's so cool to have a person you can trust take pictures with you and enjoy what they're doing. So I asked Gabi if she would like to come along on and make it a fun adventure. She did a wonderful job and she had a lot of fun. I got to teach her a few things about her camera and about photoshop and it was fun seeing her get excited about that kind of stuff.  She had certain ideas that I didn't happen to think of and they were all wonderful ideas! I think that we make a really good team.

Casey is a senior at Talawanda High School where I went to school and where Gabi currently goes. Casey is in drum core, which is like marching band, but a TON bigger and better. You have to audition for it and if you don't make it, then you're not in it. This past summer was Casey's second year in Colts. I wanted to incorporate Colts into his senior pictures since it is a huge part of his life.

Here are a few pictures from Casey's senior shoot:

We really wanted to incorporate Casey's marching band history in his pictures.

A lot of the drum cores give their members a token to remember what they are a part of
and this is Casey's memory of drum core...

The perks of having two photographers, double the pictures, double the smiles
and the fact that you have two DIFFERENT views of the same photograph.
Left: Gabi's view
Right: My view

Leaving you off with the awesome duo of B&G P!

Happy Monday folks!

Life

Anybody who knows me knows that I've wanted to be a photographer for many years now. I got my first camera when I was in eighth grade and when it broke I got an upgrade. It was still a point and shoot, but just a little bit bigger than that. It was a Kodak though. But my sophomore year was when I really knew that I wanted to be a photographer.
I started taking pictures of everything, basically anything.

Towards the middle of my junior year, I went to a small concert (or show) with a friend of mine. I took some pictures at it and I absolutely loved it. I continued to go to some shows with them until I started to get busy with school and homework and jobs. (Because those things are more important, right?) I've been dying to go to more shows, but I have two jobs where I work almost every weekend. I still really love live shows and I want to move out to California and go on tour with bands as my career.

There's a live photographer that I follow, his name is Adam Elmakias.
He goes on tour with bands like A Day To Remember and goes on Warped Tour as well.
Here are a few pictures from his blog (that I hope to recreate some day):

I love the energy you can get at a concert. And it's amazing on how well the bands are (for whoever you happen to see). Here are a few of my live shots. They're not as good as Adam Elmakias's, but I still think they're good for a high schoolers.

I am proud of what I have achieved in my life so far, but sometimes I don't think it's the right life for me. If I want to be a live photographer, I have to put myself out there and make myself available to go to these shows and shoot live. I made a promise to myself that the next show that's close to where I live, I'm going to. God put me on this planet for a reason, and I think that reason was to be a live photographer. I'm happy with the ones I have and the ones I've shot and I just have to prove to myself that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life.

Okay, rant over.
Now take a few moments and enjoy a few teasers of my cousin's wedding from a  few weeks ago!

Kayla's amazing and you should all go check out her blog!

Happy Friday everyone!  Celebrate fall today, it's beautiful out!
